Finished piece … Ok, I’m back to the states… next up, California!!!

Taking a break from the States…Working on a quick “Ballerina” Vector…

Alabama, Alaska, Arizona & Arkansas… check!

All done with the “A” States! I have to say that may favorite print is Alaska, but I am in love with Arizona’s history and I cannot wait to visit it! I’m creating all prints 12×15, for those who are interested… I have a couple of people interested in buying the final set of 50. Please feel free to send me a message if you are interested in purchasing 1 or all 50 once I am done. I will probably be posting them on Society6 so that you can pick which ones you’d like to own…

Below is the line work on Arkansas, just in case you were curious on what a “vector” image is. First, I quickly sketch on paper, then on Photoshop to give it a quick color palette, then off to Illustrator to create the vector image (for higher print resolution)… then back to Photoshop to give the design some cool textures and color fades…

Off to create California! … well the print that is… it should be unforgettable!

Arkansas…

Oh Arkansas, you were a hard one to sketch! … This print design will be a little more complex, because I incorporated things that perhaps not everyone will appreciate unless you do so some research (Little Rock Nine / Brown vs. Board of Edu)  I am not looking for people to over analyze it… I just hope everyone enjoys it.

I took longer than expected on this print just because I kept experimenting with textures and colors… but i think it’s done… I take it back… I just caught a couple of mistakes… so I’ll be fixing those right now…

WIP – Arizona {All States} 3/50

Currently working on Arizona’s print. As I dig deep into the roots of this state which “Ditat Deus” – I get more and more interested! I mean, from the “Superstition Mountains,” the “Grand Canyon,” the “Apache Trail” to the “Navajo Indian reservation” to the ghost towns! I didn’t know what to pick as the subject for this print…

I didn’t want to go with something obvious and stuff that’s been overdone… so after looking at hundreds of pics and reading really awesome history, I saw the Bird Cage Theater; this old saloon/theater that has been around for a loooong time, which is also said to be haunted… so I started sketching…

The final prints will be posted once I finish all 50 states! Wish me luck!

In any event, next up… is Alaska! “North to the future”

I did a lot of sketches for this state… just because this state has such incredible scenery that I just didn’t know what to pick!

This is my first attempt to animate… anything. I used iMovie for the lack of After Effects … and while the quality is pretty crappy I still feel pretty proud. It is approx 200 still images from my vector illustration…
